Here you will find photos, scientific images and illustrations from the entire U-M Health System for any official Health System or University purpose, including sharing them with faculty, staff, reporters and external organizations. 

All rights to all images in this database belong to UMHS or one of its units.

If you share any of these images outside the University, please ask that the line "Credit: University of Michigan Health System. Used with permission." be displayed alongside it.  

Find images using one of these options:

• Click "show all" at left to browse the entire library. Be warned: There are a lot of images to wade through!
• Type a search word into the search box at left. This searches all of the image file names, keywords associated with each image, and the description of each image. The more specific you are, the better the odds that you'll find what you want. 
• Click one of the Categories at left, to see all images associated with that category. For instance, clicking Aerials will show you all aerial photos.

Saving images:

• If you just want one or two images: Go to each image's information page, click "download original" and then choose a location on your computer where you want to save the picture.
• If you want several images at once: In the thumbnail view, or on the image information page, click "Add to favorites." The file name will appear in the Favorites section on the left side of your screen. You can add as many images to Favorites as you like. Then, click "zip format". This generates a Zip folder that contains all the images on your Favorites list, and you can Save the folder anywhere on your computer, or Open the folder and save the images individually.  

To add images to the database:  

1. Make absolutely sure that UMHS, or one of its units, owns the rights to the image, and that any patients in the image have signed release forms.
2. Go to www.med.umich.edu/i/prmc/intranet/portfolio.htm and fill out the form once for each image you're contributing. 
3. Save a copy of each image to the Upload folder on the PRMC S: shared drive.
